Hollow Lovers

Like a hollow revolutionary
Whose bravery melts in captivity,
Their love fades
In the face of intolerance and adversity.

Like birds, indulge they in public
Exhibitionism of love
As if it‘s a trinket on display;
And like a trinket, it soon loses its worth.

True soul mates proclaim not
Their love to the world
Nor do they sing love songs;

Their love shows up on the world sky
Like a shining star
When (silently) for each other
Sacrifice they make.
